||Our client, a leading global player in the housewares sector based in Farnborough, is recruiting for a Product Manager reporting to the Marketing Manager Food Prep Brands.
As Product Manager for specific brands you will work closely the Marketing Manager and fellow Product Manager across the full spectrum of tasks associated with management of the brands.
You will work with the NPD / Design team and Engineering team to ensure that product release requirements are met and that associated data is accurately input in the product set up documentation in line with the critical path of each project. A keen eye for detail and an organised and structured approach to working is essential.
Other keys tasks include creation of packaging briefs, working with creative agencies, copy generation, monitoring of sales data and creation of category reports and product training.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Compile agreed new product briefs for submission to the NPD / Design team.
Assist in the creation of business cases and scenarios to justify new product development investment.
Maintain file for new product evaluation business cases, ensure that business cases on approval are filed and relevant purchase orders processed in line with NPD critical path.
Manage new product cost data and quotes, ensuring communication with and sign off from Marketing Manager. Monitor the variances between initial quotes and final quotes. Maintain and communicate costs to wider commercial team through the published cost book.
Manage execution and development of impactful packaging on assigned projects, ensuring that all packs are not only physically fit for purpose but that they deliver first class communication messages and are in line with brand guidelines.
Work with counterparts in the NPD / Design team to manage complete of relevant tasks within the NPD critical path to ensure projects are completed on time, within cost and to specification.
Work closely with sales offices and departments (USA, Switzerland, UK, Export ) to ensure that all packaging, product data and associated collateral is in line with the market requirements.
Manage requests and availability of product sales sample for the group in line with launch plan dates.
Manage product data requirements; from collection of relevant data to the accurate input and management of the product Item Set Up Sheets (ISUS), from start to finish.
Ensure that all new product data is shared across the group in a timely manner and in line with NPD critical paths.
Assist Marketing Manager is preparation of presentation materials, particularly preparation for the bi-annual Sales and Marketing conferences.
Work with the Marketing Manager in the collation of data and creation of NPD effectiveness reports. Prepare the brand performance report for the bi-monthly management pack.
Assist team as required in the planning and execution of trade show and sales conferences.
Product training act as a brand ambassador and be able to train internal and external stakeholders, as required, on all aspects of the live product portfolio.
Maintain and keep up to date Assortment Plans (ASP), communicate changes across the group.
Maintain and issue Product Introductions Plans (PIP).
Monitor closely the activities of key competitors and build an intimate knowledge of their activities in the market.
Assist in the controlling of marketing expenditure budgets.
Assist team with the creation, management and distribution of photographic assets.
BACKGROUND, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelors degree in business, marketing or similar qualification.
Previous knowledge plus product development experience in branded goods.
Some exposure to marketing within the broader International marketplace essential.
Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial business, ability to focus and make decisions.
Must be highly numerate and have excellent PC skills.
Good copy writing skills and attention to detail.
Strong presentation & interpersonal skills.
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
An interest in food and cooking.
